How LinkedIn Learning Platform can help you gain more Tech skills

As an Army Veteran who is new to the IT industry, it is very important for me to know what kind of learning platform to use to upskill my tech skills. LinkedIn Learning was recommended to me by my manager at Butterfly Data and from there I started using it for knowledge acquisition and training purposes, with the expectation of getting to understand what this platform could do for me professionally. I must admit that, as a pleasant surprise, it has a lot of great content when it comes to a variety of subject matters. It turns out that it had a whole host of content relating to my field and catered for whatever level of knowledge I had in the areas I needed to upskill in.

Due to the pandemic, LinkedIn learning bridged the void of not being able to ask more experienced colleagues for help on how to use various applications, by giving you all the tutorials needed and allowing for practical learning to gain the experience needed. There was an amazing opportunity provided by Microsoft, where they partnered with companies who had to furlough their employees to upskill them in any area for free. This helped me put together a learning path that has broadened my knowledge in data analysis.

One of the values at Butterfly Data is “Technological Mastery”. The management at Butterfly Data have always been supportive of their employees engaging in continuous, lifelong learning. The true benefit to this approach to learning is that it gives credibility to both the employee and employer, as when employees upskill they develop  in a way that helps both their individual career and their capability for the company.

So far, LinkedIn Learning for me is one of the best learning platforms in the market. It gives you the option to choose from different topics that cut across different sectors, all brought together in a really user friendly interface.

To sum up, I would definitely recommend it to anyone starting in the IT industry - any attempt to learn and develop is a wonderful thing, and LinkedIn Learning is a fantastic way to facilitate this.
